Several Qatar University Scholarships are available to students from Qatar and worldwide. Here is a brief introduction to scholarships available for the fall semester. The timeline is given at the end of the article.
Scholarships for Domestic Students’ Admission
Qatar University Scholarships are made available by Qatar University to outstanding undergraduate applicants. It is requested that the applicant apply for Qatar University Scholarships during the designated application period. The recipients of this scholarship are chosen from among many applicants.
- Residents of Qatar for Bachelor degree
- Exemption from tuition fees
- Exemption from textbook fees
During the designated application period, the applicant may apply for the entrance scholarship via the online admission application in the “Scholarship Application” section.
Fully Funded Scholarship for International Students
Outstanding students from nations other than Qatar can receive fully funded Qatar University Scholarships for international study.
- Students from abroad who excel academically
- Absence of tuition charges
- Free textbooks and a 500 QR monthly stipend
- Housing for students, with two people per room, and transportation to and from campus are included.

Scholarships Talent for International Students
Qatar University Scholarships provides this scholarship to non-Qatari undergraduate students (including those from abroad) who have demonstrated talent in the disciplines of science, technology, innovation, literature, the arts, media, and athletics. The recipients of this scholarship are chosen from among many applicants.
- Talented students for Bachelor degree
- Exemption from tuition fees
- Exemption from textbook fees
- A monthly stipend of 1,000 QR
- Guarantee to be admitted to the desired program of study upon meeting the minimum program admission requirements (except for medicine and dental medicine)
- For international talented students: Student housing (two students per room) including transportation to/from campus, annual round trip airfare ticket, and residence permit under QU sponsorship
During the designated application time, the applicant may submit an online entrance application for the talent scholarship at the “Scholarship Application” page. The applicant is asked to attach the necessary supporting documents highlighting his or her abilities and accomplishments.
Note: Qatar University Scholarships provides a Talent scholarship that is available only for Fall Semester intake.
Qatar University Scholarships for Arabic Program for Non-Native Speakers (International)
Qatar University Scholarships is intended to help students from outside Qatar who are not natural Arabic speakers study the language. International students whose mother tongue is not Arabic can receive certificates of completion from the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Center, which is part of the Languages, Communication, and Translation Cluster in the College of Arts and Sciences.

College of Education Diploma Scholarships
For students who are interested in enrolling in the diploma programs provided by the College of Education, several scholarships are available from Qatar University.
- These scholarships solely cover the cost of tuition.
- The candidate must fulfill the prerequisites for admission to the college they applied to.
- The candidate must be employed by a government-run educational institution or the higher education ministry.
The Emir of Qatar’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence
Students who excelled in the Qatari Secondary Education Certificate and intend to enroll in an undergraduate program at Qatar University are eligible for this award.
- The candidate must have a secondary education diploma from Qatar.
- Exemption from tuition fees
- Exemption from textbook fees
- Monthly stipend of 1,000 QR for 9 months per academic year
The Emir of Qatar’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence
Students who excelled in the Qatari Secondary Education Certificate and intend to enroll in an undergraduate program at Qatar University are eligible for this award.
- The candidate must have a secondary education diploma from Qatar.
- Exemption from tuition fees
- Exemption from textbook fees
- Monthly stipend of 1,000 QR for 9 months per academic year
Only the top scorers are chosen for the Admission Scholarship, which is open to applicants. During the specified application time, they may apply via the “Scholarship Application” portion of the online entrance application.
Outstanding Performance Scholarship for Current Students
This grant is available to undergraduate students at Qatar University Scholarships who have excelled in the classroom. The recipients of this scholarship are chosen from among many applicants.
- Students enrolled at QU for Bachelor’s degree
- Exemption from tuition fees
- Applicant must be enrolled at Qatar University.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 out of 4.00.
- Must have completed at least 30 credit hours in QU.
Current Qatar University students may submit their applications online via the banner Self-Service System during the designated application period.
GCC States Scholarships
Academically outstanding students from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries who hold a High School Certificate or its equivalent from their countries or any country other than Qatar and are looking to enroll in a Qatar University Scholarships undergraduate program are eligible for this scholarship, which is offered by Qatar University. Each GCC state is given a certain amount of scholarships, and it is up to the GCC embassies to nominate applicants. These scholarships may be carried over to the second semester of the same academic year but not to the following one.
- Students from GCC states for Bachelor’s degree
- Exemption from tuition fees.
- Student housing (two students per room), including transportation to/from campus.
- Students should submit their scholarship applications through their home country’s embassy in Qatar. Direct submission of the nomination letters is required to Qatar University.
Children of Qatar University Employees Scholarship
This scholarship is available to the kids of Qatar University staff members. The University may simultaneously award up to three scholarships to the employee’s three children.

- The applicant’s parent(s) must work full-time for QU.

GCC Qatari Certificate Scholarships
The University offers these scholarships to GCC students who have earned their Qatari High School Certificate.
