Turkish Government Scholarships
Türkiye Scholarships, also known as Türkiye Bursları, is a global scholarship program funded by the Turkish government. With 5,000 scholarships given out each year, it is the largest scholarship program for international students in Turkey. 165,500 students from 178 different countries apply for the scholarships.
This program offers scholarships to international students pursuing associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees. The stated objective of the Türkiye Scholarships is to promote mutual understanding and people-to-people exchange with other countries.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who qualify
- People from every nation
- Graduates or those who will graduate before August 2024, at the end of the current academic year
- Scholars and researchers
- Minimum Level of Academic Performance
- 70% of candidates are undergraduates.
- 75% of graduate candidates
- 90% of applicants are in the health sciences (pharmacy, dentistry, and medicine).
Age Requirements
- Under 21 years old for undergraduate programs
- For master’s programs: under 30 years old
- Being under 35 is a requirement for PhD programs.
- To be eligible for a research scholarship, you must be under 50.
Not eligible
- Turkish nationals and those who are no longer Turkish
- Applications are open to anyone currently enrolled in courses in Turkish universities.
Documents
- a valid identity document, such as a passport or ID card
- A photo of the candidate taken within the last year
- National exam results, if any
- A temporary certificate of graduation or a diploma
- The transcript Results of any foreign tests (SAT, GMAT, GRE, etc.), if required by the program or preferred university
- Results of foreign language tests, like the TOEFL or DELF, if required by the chosen program or university
- For PhD candidates only, a proposal for a research topic and a written sample of your finished work
Deadline for Turkish Government Scholarships

Application Procedure
- During the application time, register on the Türkiye Scholarships website.
- All required files, including those on extracurricular activities, should be uploaded.
- Make a list of the universities you wish to attend.
- Write a letter describing your goals, aspirations, and preferences.
- After completing each step, send in your application.
