Scholarship duration
The Utrecht Excellence scholarship can be awarded as tuition fees OR tuition fees plus the required income linked to a residence permit for study as set by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service, for one year.
The scholarship is awarded for the nominal duration of the program and can be renewed for the second year of a two-year master’s program.
Eligibility
You have to fulfill the following requirements to be qualified for a Utrecht Excellence Scholarship:
- You have to be in the top ten percent of your class at graduation.
- You must not be ineligible for funding through the Dutch student grant and loan program, nor possess an EU or EEA passport.
- You have to have finished your bachelor’s degree or secondary education abroad in the Netherlands.
- Your application needs to have been submitted for a master’s program abroad that meets the requirements and starts on September 1, 2024.
Application instructions
Non-EU/EEA students may apply for one Utrecht Excellence Scholarship starting on November 1, 2023, after submitting an application (or applications) for a Master’s course qualified for UES before the deadline. The UES application(s) will be visible on the dashboard of your OSIRIS Online Application account.
To be eligible for the scholarship, prospective students must submit their applications by February 1, 2024, at 23:59 CET. After that date, the application system will close.
