Coverage of Finances
The Government of Ireland Scholarships is fully funded, with an annual maximum value of €28,000 in any year that qualifies. The following elements will be included in the scholarship:
- A yearly stipend of €19,000.
- Direct research costs of up to €3,250 annually are eligible.
- Fee contributions up to a maximum of €5,750 annually, including non-EU fees.

- Applicants must have a Bachelor’s, or an equivalent Degree to apply for a Master’s Degree.
- Applicants must have a Masters Degree or the equivalent Degree to apply for a Doctoral Degree.
- Result-awaiting students are eligible to apply.
- Suppose the results of the undergraduate examinations are not known at the time of application. In that case, the Council may temporarily offer the scholarship on the condition that the scholar’s bachelor’s, or equivalent, degree result is a first-class or upper second-class honours.
