Trent University is a public liberal arts university serving the Durham Regional Municipality from its satellite campus in Oshawa. Trent University is located in Peterborough, Ontario. Trent is well known for its Oxbridge college system and small class sizes. Trent University is a collegiate institution made up of five colleges. Each college has its residence halls, dining halls, and student government. About 1,900 full- and part-time students are enrolled at Trent University Durham GTA’s Thornton Road location in Oshawa, and over 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled at the university’s Peterborough campus.

Trent International Scholarships for Global Citizen
Applications for this renewable fellowship are open to international students with a certain level of financial need, community service, leadership potential, and outstanding academic achievement. Trent University can receive up to $34,000 in tuition and required ancillary fees per academic year, or up to $136,000 throughout a four-year degree, through the Global Citizen Scholarships and Awards.
Trent International Program Tuition Levy Scholarship
This scholarship is renewable as long as Trent University students pay an annual fee. Tuition Levy Scholarships are awarded based on exceptional academic achievement, a strong record of community and/or international service, leadership, and some financial need. They cover foreign tuition and related costs of up to $34,000 per academic year, or up to $136,000 over a 4-year degree.
Moore Family International Scholarship
The kind generosity of longtime Trent supporters David and Joan Moore made this new scholarship possible. It will offer a maximum award of $48,000 and an annual stipend of $12,000 to three students from outside North America. The recipients will be selected based on their financial need, leadership potential, outstanding academic record, and volunteer work in the community. Trent University Scholarships grant is renewable up to $48,000 throughout a four-year degree.
Justin Chiu International Scholarships
This scholarship was started by international student Justin Chiu, who benefited from his time at Trent. awarded to new Asian international students who excel academically, have a small financial need, and exhibit leadership potential. The value of scholarships varies from $3,000 to $15,000 per academic year, which considerably reduces the cost of attending Trent University. This grant is renewable for a maximum of $12,000–$60,000 throughout a four-year degree.
Maple Leaf Leadership Award
Given to an international student attending Trent University who demonstrates financial need, leadership potential, outstanding academic achievement, and community service from a Maple Leaf Education System school. A maximum of five students will receive the $2,000 prize each year, on a one-time basis.
Trent-Scholarships at United World Colleges (UWC)
Awarded to a transfer international student from a UWC college to Trent University Scholarships who demonstrates financial need, outstanding academic achievement, a strong commitment to community service, and the capacity to assume leadership roles. The scholarship’s value is determined after financial need is assessed. For each academic year, it can pay up to $34,000 toward tuition and other costs abroad, and for a four-year degree, up to $136,000.
Criteria for Trent University Scholarships
- You must be a foreign student paying for your tuition abroad.
- You will be studying in Canada once you have a study permit.
- You have to have applied for the summer or fall of 2024 undergraduate programs at Trent University Scholarships. Postgraduate certificates and students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees are not eligible.
- To be admitted to Trent University, you must meet all prerequisites, which include general and degree-specific requirements as well as the English language proficiency requirements. (Note: applicants do not need an acceptance offer to be considered for scholarships and awards.)
- You obtained a final high school average of at least 85% (Canadian Equivalent).
- You must complete and submit the Trent International Scholarships & Awards online application by January 21, 2024, at 11:59:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time).
Trent University Scholarships Timeline
- The application period for Trent International Scholarships and Awards opens November 1.
- January 5th is the deadline for summer or fall 2024 applications.
- The application deadline for Trent International Scholarships and Awards is January 21st. Additionally, the deadline for turning in your predicted or final grades to be eligible for Trent University Scholarships and awards.
- The decision will be communicated to all candidates on March 28.
