Benefits of Karlstad University Global Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Karlstad University Global Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

Be from a country outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland.
Have received an admission offer for a program starting in the fall semester.
Not have lived in Sweden for more than two years when the scholarship period begins.
Not hold a permanent residence or work permit in Sweden.
Not already possess a master’s degree from a Swedish university.
Not have received a scholarship from the Swedish Institute or other Swedish institutions.

Scholarships for Specific Countries

Students from the following 32 countries are not eligible for the Karlstad University Global Scholarship. These students should instead apply for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships:

Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Zambia.
